Dr. B. P. Ghildyal-ISAP Foundation Lecture

Dr. B. P. Ghildyal, a legendary name in the field of Agriculture Physics in India had been an internationally famous scientist with wide vision. Spanning over five decades he made significant contribution in different areas of research, education and allied activities promoting the cause of agriculture in general and agricultural physics and soil physics in particular. Dr. Ghildyal was the founder president of The Indian Society of AgroPhysics.

To commemorate the foundation of the society in 1985 and its founder president in most befitting way, the Indian Society of AgroPhysics instituted the 'Dr. B. P. Ghildyal-ISAP Foundation Lecture' to be delivered by the eminent scientist every year.

  • The first 'Dr. B. P. Ghildyal-ISAP Foundation Lecture' was given by late Dr. J. S. P. Yadav on 17-Feb-04 and chaired by Prof. R. B. Singh. The topic of lecture was 'Efficient Soil and Water Management for Sustainable Agriculture'.

  • The second 'Dr. B. P. Ghildyal-ISAP Foundation Lecture' was given by Dr. M. S. Swaminathan on 17-November-04 and chaired by Dr. J. S. P. Yadav. The topic of lecture was 'Agrarian Crisis : Causes and Cures'.

  • The Third 'Dr. B. P. Ghildyal-ISAP Foundation Lecture' was given by Dr. Punjab Singh on 14-May-07 and chaired by Prof. R. B. Singh. The topic of lecture was 'Soil Health Deterioration-Consequences and Policy Interventions'.
