Aims and Objective of the society

  • To cultivate and promote basic and applied research in the field of physics environment of Soil and Plant and related aspects.
  • To collect, collate and disseminate information on the physical aspects of soil and plant environment including multi-disciplinary areas such as soil physics, agro-meteorology, agro-ecology, geo-hydrology, biophysics and application of remote sensing, GIS, GPS and other modern tools by organizing symposium/seminars, conferences.
  • To provide a forum for scientists working on various scientific and technical aspects of Agro-Physics and express their views on scientific matters and discuss topic of mutual interest.
  • To foster high standard in the teaching and education in Agricultural Physics.
  • To work in close association with other learned professional societies and organizations having similar objective.
  • To create public awareness about the important of application of physical principles in judicious management of natural resources and sustainable agriculture.
  • To perform all other activities that may assist or be conductive to or be necessary for the fulfillment of the objectives and purpose of the Society.

Mandate

 

  • Dissemination of knowledge and information in the field of Agro-physics and related technology by publication of journals,bulletins,newsletters,or any other publication of incorporating research and teaching ideas, reviews, new developments and by employing media of mass communication, radio, television, etc. and also by arranging special programmes for students or establishing student cadres.
  • Arranging seminars, workshops, symposia, lectures, debates, panel, discussions, conference and film shows on current research topics and other topics of national and local interest pertaining to research, training and applied aspects of Agricultural Physics and related technologies.
  • Providing recognition for outstanding contributions in the field of Agricultural Physics by way of awards, medals and other suitable methods.
  • Assisting in the organization of Chapters of the Society in different parts of the country.
  • Acquiring properties such as land, office premises, auditorium and hostels for the use of the society.
  • Securing grants, funds and endowments and administering the same for the furtherance of the aims and objectives of the Society.
  • Appointing personnel for smooth functioning of the Society.
